This was the first Malama Loko I'a annual gathering Stacy & Kelii attended representing Pa'akea. It was hosted by Alekoko on Kaua'i. During our time there we did hana (work) that included cleaning their kalo patches and building a stabilizing rock wall for their spring. We also spent the time discussing issues impacting all loko i'a in the state and legislation in process to support preservation, restoration, and maintenance efforts. We are thankful for Pakele and his team at Alekoko for hosting all of us and the work Brenda and KUA for all the work they did to support a successful event.
